Nadi is gateway to Fiji. With a proximity to the international airport, it caters to tourists. There are various accommodations, restaurants, nightlife, duty free shopping, sightseeing tours and inter-island cruises. The starting point for many scenic tours and sporting activities, Nadi is near Viseisei village, foundation village of Fijian heritage and culture. Also close by is Fiji's largest privately owned tropical Waqadra Botanical Gardens. From Nadi, visit Momi guns, bunkers and gun emplacements installed to repel a World War II invasion by the Japanese or take a trip to Mount Victoria, Fiji's highest peak with three native reserves and breathe the fresh air found only above sea level. There are day cruises to islands and jungle locations and cruise boats take you down the Nadi River on to the Mamanuca Islands. For scuba diving, join a schooner which departs from the beach near the Denarau Marina. Finally, Nadi has one of two international standard 18-hole golf courses in Fiji and is within easy reach of hotels.

The pace of life in Samoa is so laid-back it's only a heartbeat away from being a nice little snooze. Its palm-fringed beaches, booming white surf, and lush rainforests wreathed in misty clouds make it the kind of place Hollywood location scouts go gaga over. The islands are so idyllic they're almost a cartoon version of a writer's hideaway. Then there's the beachcomber lifestyle where time is the haziest of concepts.

Cook Islands

|
A net of 15 islands in the heart of the South Pacific spread over an area the size of India with a population no bigger than a small New Zealand country town, 14,000 souls. These unique and friendly Polynesians have their own language and government and enjoy a vigorous and diverse culture with significant differences between each island. Despite some 70,000 visitors a year to the capital island – Rarotonga – the Cooks are largely unspoiled by tourism. They offer a rare opportunity for people from the cities of the world to experience a different type of vacation. There are no high-rise hotels, only four beach buggies and very little hype. Ideal for travellers seeking more than the usual clichés associated with the South Seas, each island has its unique qualities and offers the visitor a special experience.

Raiatea

Tahitians believe Raiatea to be the sacred birthplace of their gods and their religious and cultural beginnings. The most important and well-preserved religious site in all of Polynesia is here. It is from these shores that ancient Polynesian explorers are said to have ventured to the far off lands of Hawaii and New Zealand. Second only in size to the Island of Tahiti, Raiatea is today the trading center of the leeward islands. Raiatea is unique in that it has the only navigable river in Polynesia - the Faaroa. The rare, white gardenia called Tiare Apetahi only grows on the slopes of Mount Temehani and nowhere else on Earth! Mount Temehani is also the supposed birthplace of Oro, one principal god of Polynesia. There is a large, protected lagoon around Raiatea and its sister island Tahaa, which produces wonderful beaches and the perfect location for sailing, big game fishing, and diving.

There is a large, protected lagoon around Raiatea and its sister island Taha'a, which produces wonderful beaches and the perfect location for sailing, big game fishing, and diving. Tahaa is only accessible by boat and has little tourism activity, although it affords visitors ideal spots to picnic, dive and hike. It also grows about 80 percent of all the vanilla in Polynesia.
